Red Cabbage with Retriever Red

This is a very easy but very delicious red cabbage recipe made with Linganore’s Retriever Red wine. Perfect for the holidays!


  • 1 small jar Red Cabbage (16 oz)
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored, chopped
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 whole cloves
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup Linganore Retriever Red
  • 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar


In a medium sized saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and cook onion and apple until soft. Add remaining ingredients and cook for 30 minutes. Serve warm.
