Linganore Winecellars received a total of eleven medals and two “Best In Class” designations at the 2020 Maryland Wine Governor’s Cup Competition. The 32nd annual event featured 160 wines, some made from new-to-Maryland varieties, like Malbec, Saperavi, and Chenin Blanc.

Brut Albariño 2019
Brut Albariño releases elegant notes of pear, apricot, and grapefruit with each bubble in the slightly sparkling wine. A light, rounded midpalate melds smoothly into a crisp and balanced finish.

Fresh notes of strawberries, raspberries, and Honeycrisp apples end with a balanced crispness.

Saperavi 2019
Although native to the country of Georgia, we have found that Saperavi grows lusciously on our fertile soils in central Maryland. This medium-bodied wine is rich in aromas of the darkest blueberries, vibrant blackberries, and subtle vanilla notes ending with a smooth finish.

Brut Albariño 2019

Bright fruit and spices with a soft entry and midpalate. Medium bodied. Aged in French oak barrels for 10 months, this complex wine has nuances of toast, black cherry, and red licorice. A round mouthfeel ends with an enjoyable robust finish.

Chardonnay Reserve 2019
Full bodied wine that is rich, creamy, and buttery with an aromatic balance of fruit and oak. Fermented in oak, then aged six months in French oak.

Terrapin 2019
Elegant ripe melon nose creates a lovely medium bodied wine with just a touch of sweetness. Hints of honeysuckle and green apple combine to make the perfect wine for any occasion.

PRIVATE WINE TASTING
Enjoy a private, seated tasting experience on our fire pit studded patio (weather permitting) or our barrel lounge overlooking our beautifully rustic tasting room. You will be treated to an informational guided tasting of 8 of our signature wines. Three different tastings are available to satiate every palate.
WINE IN THE VINES
Fully immerse yourself with a tasting and tour experience through our scenic vineyards and state-of-the-art winery. Sample wines next to the vines that grew them, enjoy a cleansing cheese plate during a winery tour, and finish with a few more tastes amongst our barrels. These experiences are limited to 1 seating per timeslot and are personally guided by one of our wine educators.
